Where does the weather come from?
From Apple Weather. If Apple Weather can't answer, Comic Weather uses MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute) instead. The source is credited at the foot of every forecast page.
Is there a subscription or an in-app purchase?
No. You pay once on the App Store and get everything: both skins, all widgets and every notification. There are no ads.
Which iPhones does it run on?
Any iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
Can I use it without sharing my location?
Yes. Tap "Search a city" and add places by name. If you do share your location, Comic Weather uses only an approximate location, rounded to about 100 meters.
How do I change the look?
Settings > Theme. Four-Color is the bright newsstand style and Midnight City is gothic noir. The skin changes the whole app and your widgets.
How do I change the narrator?
Settings > Personality: Deadpan, Chipper or Dramatic. The voice is used in the captions and the notifications.
How do I switch between °C and °F?
Settings > Units: Metric, Imperial, or Match system.
How do I add, remove or reorder places?
Tap the magnifying glass at the top of the page. Search for a city to add it, swipe left on a place to remove it, tap Edit to reorder, and tap the star to make a place your main one. On the home page, swipe sideways to move between places.
Why am I not getting notifications?
Check Settings > Notifications in the app and Settings > Notifications > Comic Weather on your iPhone. Notifications are planned for your main place from the forecast the app has downloaded, so they only arrive when the weather calls for one. Opening the app now and then keeps the plan current.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit > Add Widget and choose Comic Weather: Comic Panel (small) or Comic Strip (medium). For the Lock Screen, touch and hold it, tap Customize and add Weather Glyph. Touch and hold a widget and choose Edit Widget to pick its place.
My widget looks out of date.
iOS decides how often widgets refresh. Open Comic Weather to update them, and make sure Background App Refresh is on for Comic Weather in Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
The painted scene doesn't move.
Scenes hold still when Reduce Motion (Settings > Accessibility > Motion) or Low Power Mode is on. That's deliberate.
I don't see severe weather alerts.
Alerts appear only where an official agency publishes them. Not every country or region does.
What happens offline?
Your last forecast stays on the page, marked with how old it is. Pull down to refresh when you're back online.
How do I get it on a new iPhone?
Download it again from the App Store with the same Apple Account. You won't pay again.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles purchases and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
